DairyWorks Management
Seminar
For Dairy Owners and
Managers
| A two-day
seminar for owners and managers in Phoenix, away from your
hectic schedule, giving you time to think, enjoy and learn!
This seminar is divided into two parts. The first day discusses
principles to managing people and work: |
- Organizing
work - learning to break down work into small, manageable
tasks and examining it to know it is being done right;
then reassembling the tasks into more efficient and productive
outcomes.
- Motivating
employees - you are in the people business and you must
be able to trust your employees; learn to delegate, see
how to train, recognize the importance of monitoring results
and applying intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
- Organizing
your dairy into a manageable business - the value of an
organizational diagram of your dairy (who is the boss?)
and descriptions for each position (workers) within your
operation. It's how you make employees accountable.
- Organizing
information - records that are essential to monitor work
and employees, both results and expectations. You will
see the value of "Key Performance Indicators"
and how to monitor them daily.
|
| The second
day includes an in-depth visit to a top producing dairy to
see how DairyWorks management principles can be implemented.
|
- Structure
and organization in one of the highest producing dairies
in Arizona.
- Demonstration
of work systems, written protocols and examples of "this
is how we do it here."
- Examples
of record systems that manage information accurately so
the owner knows what's happening daily in every area of
his dairy.

One
of the biggest challenges dairy producers face is being
effective people managers. The DairyWorks two-day
Management Seminar will describe principles and demonstrate
their implementation.
(A modified
version of this two-day seminar is available in other locations
around the country. Videotape
demonstrations replace the dairy visit; modifications of
course agenda are made to accommodate
local registrants.)
